    Research : AUN/SEED-Net Collaborative Research

Apart from human resource development, which is the main focus of the Project, AUN/SEED-Net encourages the network members to conduct collaborative research of international standard, especially that can provide solutions to common issues of the ASEAN region. The AUN/SEED-Net Collaborative Research Program is designed to support research conducted by AUN/SEED-Net students and faculty staff from Member Institutions as well as Japanese Supporting Universities, with possible collaboration from other institutions/networks. This kind of research allows all parties involved to pool knowledge, expertise, and resources in order to solve common issues or to offer appropriate technologies for the ASEAN region. It is intended that all AUN/SEED-Net students are (and especially doctoral sandwich students must be) included in the Collaborative Research so that they will receive significant Japanese support to their thesis research.

AUN/SEED-Net collaborative research have been conducted under the nine engineering fields, covering both fundamental and interdisciplinary areas which are addressed as the common critical issues of ASEAN. The research in fundamental fields are led by respective Host Institutions (HIs); while the research in interdisciplinary areas are managed by respective Main Facilitating Institutions (Main FIs), as listed below.
